If your skin looks dull and uneven or shows signs of age, discoloration and damage, you have several options to improve it. Dermaplaning is a gentle, non-invasive way to brighten and smooth your skin while removing annoying peach fuzz.  Gentle Chemical peels are a versatile way to rejuvenate your skin. When combined, they offer dramatic results without downtime or discomfort.

What are Dermaplaning and Chemical Peels?

Dermaplaning and chemical peels are both forms of exfoliation, which means they remove dead and damaged layers of skin cells at a controlled depth. Dermaplaning uses a sterile blade to gently remove dead skin, fine hairs, and pore-clogging debris, a process called mechanical exfoliation. A mild chemical peel uses one or several types of acids to remove those damaged layers, which is called chemical exfoliation.

Benefits of Dermaplaning Before a Chemical Peel

At Krauss Dermatology, we have found that people can achieve more vibrant, smoother skin with a combination of these treatments than either one alone. As a result, we developed our gentle dermaplaning and micropeel combination. What makes this combination so beneficial?

Two Layers of Treatment

Any skin rejuvenation treatment must begin by addressing the outermost layer of the skin. This layer consists of dead cells that are pushed to the surface by new cells before being shed. By removing this layer with dermaplaning, we allow the chemical peel to do its job on the deeper layers while still being ideal for sensitive skin.

See More Results

Because dermaplaning both improves the skin and preps it for the benefits of the chemical peel, you see better results than you would achieve from either treatment alone. Your skin will look healthier and more even with a vibrant glow. Because the chemical peel delivered post dermaplaning is gentle, the results are immediate with no downtime.

Improved Skincare Benefits

When you apply skincare products, they often stay on the surface layers, where they are less useful. A chemical peel after dermaplaning reveals fresh, active skin cells that can fully benefit from those skin-nourishing products.

Is There Downtime After a Chemical Peel With Dermaplaning?

Our dermaplaning and micropeel combination is often referred to as a “lunchtime treatment” because you can stop in, enjoy your session, and return to work with smooth, radiant-looking skin and no downtime. Your skin may look flushed immediately after treatment, but this effect is usually gone by the time you get back to your next activity.  We highly recommend this treatment a few days prior to a special event or photo opportunity!

Am I a Candidate for a Chemical Peel With Dermaplaning?

This combination treatment is gentle enough for almost anyone and suitable for any skin type or age. Good candidates have reasonable expectations and want to brighten, smooth, and clarify their skin. You can have this treatment as often as every two to four weeks to see continuing benefits over time.

Dr Goddard was recommended to my wife and me as a doctor who had the skills, knowledge and experience to best deal with our medical issues. She has exceeded our expectations.
