EmSculpt® and CoolSculpting® Elite are both treatments designed to help contour your body. What Is EmSculpt®?

Emsculpt® uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic fields to build muscle and definition and burn fat quickly, without the need for invasive procedures. It is the perfect solution for people whose primary goal is to tone their abdomen or lift the buttocks. The electromagnetic fields stimulate the muscles and produce supramaximal contractions, which are stronger than any voluntary contraction can achieve with exercise. These contractions help build muscle fibers and in doing so decrease some overlying fat, giving an amazing sculpted look. In addition, Emsulpt improves strength and performance as shown in studies performed by the military, and makes you feel great. Emsculpt is best for patients who are close to their ideal weight

Krauss Dermatology offers EmSculpt® treatments right here in our office. There are no needles involved and no downtime required after the treatment, and it is suitable for men and women.

What Is CoolSculpting® Elite?

CoolSculpting® Elite is a non-invasive procedure designed to remove stubborn fat from the abdomen, flanks, and under-chin area. This innovative technology is an improved version of the tried and tested CoolSculpting® treatment and offers better and faster results. It works by freezing fat cells (a process known as cryolipolysis) to remove them.

Krauss Dermatology was the first practice in New England to offer CoolSculpting® Elite and our board-certified dermatologists have administered over 7,000 treatments. If you are finding it difficult to get rid of fat, even with a good diet and exercise routine, CoolSculpting® Elite treatments are ideal.

Main Differences Between EmSculpt® and CoolSculpting® Elite

There are a few key differences between these two treatments, even though they both aim to improve contour and slim areas of concern. Firstly, the methods that are used differ as EmSculpt® uses electromagnetic fields to encourage muscle growth, while CoolSculpting® Elite kills fat cells using low temperatures.

EmSculpt® is more suited to people that want to get a more toned appearance because it builds muscle fibers. However, CoolSculpting® Elite is more effective for removing larger areas of fat when exercise and diet are not effective. You may even be able to have these treatments in tandem with one another – CoolSculpting® Elite first to remove fat, and then EmSculpt® to tone and define your muscles for a visible six-pack.

It is important to consider what your goals are when deciding which treatment is best for you. The expert dermatologists at Krauss Dermatology can advise you and help you make your decision.

EmSculpt® and CoolSculpting® Elite Similarities

The main similarity between EmSculpt® and CoolSculpting® Elite is that they are both pain-free non-invasive treatments. They are both quick treatments that don’t require any downtime to recover afterward too.

Am I a Candidate for EmSculpt® or CoolSculpting® Elite?

Patients who have some weight to lose or who are close to their ideal weight with discrete bulges they wish to eliminate may be better candidates for CoolSculpting® Elite. If you are close to your ideal weight and want to tone and strengthen your muscles in the abdomen or buttocks, EmSculpt® is the perfect treatment for you. However, if you are looking to remove more fat in areas such as the abdomen, thighs, love handles, bra fat, arms and double chin, CoolSculpting® Elite is more suitable.

Both treatments are designed to target specific areas but neither result in actual weight loss, so if you want to lose pounds, diet and exercise should be your priority. Get in touch with Krauss Dermatology and we can help you decide which treatments best fit your goals.
