If you have visible spider veins on your face, then chances are you’ve looked for solutions that can clear up those veins.

And whether you’ve tried expensive serums or lightening creams, you’ve found that the results are all the same: They didn’t work.

So how can you treat spider veins on your face? Is there a solution out there that actually works on visible facial veins?

As it turns out, there is – and it’s now available at Krauss Dermatology in Wellesley Hills, MA.

Treat Facial Spider Veins and Rosacea with the VBeam

The Vbeam Prima Pulsed Dye Laser is an innovative technology that specializes in treating spider veins, as well as other signs of rosacea (like red splotches) and vascular red spots on the body called cherry angiomas.

Here’s how the VBeam laser works: The device emits pulses of laser light energy, which are absorbed by spider veins and superficial capillaries. The heat energy causes the vein to break down; at that point, the vein is absorbed by the body, leaving behind clear, vein-free skin.

Best of all, VBeam laser treatments are extremely safe – there’s no damage caused to the surrounding veins or tissue when performed by an expert on skin that is not tanned.

It typically takes one to three treatments to see ideal results. Clients can expect to see 25%-75% clearance after each session. Treatments are spaced four to eight weeks apart, depending on how well the patient tolerates each session.

IPL Treatments for Spider Veins

In addition to VBeam Pulsed Dye Laser treatments, Krauss Dermatology is proud to offer Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatments for facial spider veins. IPL treatments are designed to minimize – and even eliminate – brown and red spots on the face, hands, decolletage and more.

IPL treatments work in a similar manner as the VBeam. During an IPL session, the device emits wavelengths of light energy to the targeted area. The spider veins and brown spots absorb this light and eventually break down over the course of multiple treatments.

Most clients need about three to five treatments (spaced four weeks apart) to see their ideal results. Once these results have been achieved, clients can maintain their clear, smooth skin with one to two IPL sessions each year.

In addition to spider veins, IPL treatments can also treat hyperpigmentation, brown spots, rosacea, and even superficial wrinkles and fine lines.

Good Candidates for Facial Spider Vein Treatments

The best candidates for facial spider vein treatments are those individuals with visible red, purple, and blue veins on the nose and cheeks. Candidates with lighter skin tones tend to see better results, as it makes it easier for each device to target the darker pigmentation of spider veins.  Sun avoidance is imperative both before and after Vbeam laser and IPL treatments.
