Has your skin started to show signs of aging, sun damage, or other concerns? Krauss Dermatology offers Fraxel® Dual laser treatments to rejuvenate your skin. This uniquely customizable laser effectively treats conditions from hyperpigmentation to lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.
What are Fraxel® Dual Laser Treatments?
Fraxel® is a customizable laser that resurfaces the skin and triggers collagen production. Fraxel® Dual is a fractional laser that creates tiny areas of controlled damage, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected and the overlying epidermis intact. This process brings healthy new cells to the surface and signals the fibroblasts in your skin to make more collagen.
How Does Fraxel® Skin Rejuvenation Work?
Most lasers are either ablative or non-ablative. Ablative lasers remove all or part of the skin’s surface layers, while non-ablative lasers work by transferring energy to the deeper layers of the skin without causing damage to the overlying epidermis. Fraxel® Dual is a nonablative treatment that utilizes two wavelengths of light to allow a custom treatment for your skin concerns- whether pigmentation or texture concerns. This flexibility lets your Krauss Dermatology provider adjust your treatment to treat your face uniquely. In addition to resurfacing the skin, Fraxel® triggers new collagen production to firm and smooth it.
How Much are Fraxel® Laser Treatments?
The cost of laser skin resurfacing across the world depends on many factors, including:
- Your location
- Your provider
- The type of treatment
- The number of treatments
Full face treatment with Fraxel® Dual in our office is $975 per treatment. Since Fraxel® can provide intensive skin rejuvenation, you should seek an experienced and trained professional to treat you. Depending on the skin concerns you want to treat, you may need between three and five sessions. We recommend a consultation to discuss how many treatments you may need and how much you can expect to pay. A milder laser with a similar wavelength and shorter downtime called Clear and Brilliant, is about half the price of the more powerful Fraxel Dual procedure. Your physician can help you decide which is best for you.
What Can Fraxel® Skin Rejuvenation Treat?
Fraxel® can treat:
- Uneven texture
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun spots
- Dullness
- Soften fine lines
- Acne scars
- Subtly improve enlarged pores
Is There Any Downtime After Fraxel® Laser Treatments?
Your recovery after Fraxel® depends on the intensity of your treatment. You can generally expect three days of redness, sensitivity, and mild swelling. As the redness subsides, you may experience several days of peeling as the treated outer layers peel away. You should avoid scrubs, harsh cleansers, or heavily fragranced products for several days. We will recommend medical-grade skincare to speed your recovery and maintain your results.
