How Does CoolSculpting® Elite Work?
CoolSculpting® Elite uses a technology called cryolipolysis to remove fat cells. The applicators lower the temperature of the treatment area enough that fat cells crystallize. Skin and other cells remain unaffected. CoolSculpting® Elite can take inches away from your stubborn pockets of fat. You may notice that clothes fit better, and your figure looks slimmer and more sculpted. Used under the chin, it provides a more contoured jaw and slimmer neck.
How Much is CoolSculpting® Elite Under the Chin?
CoolSculpting® Elite costs vary depending on the size of the treatment area. The chin is a relatively small area and requires only one applicator in the midline or 2 applicators on the left and right area under the chin overlapping slightly in the middle. The price of CoolSculpting® Elite under the chin is $700 if only one applicator is needed or $1400 if 2 applications (cycles) are needed per treatment. We recommend waiting 3-4 months then repeating the treatment if desired. The second treatment is the same price as the first, though discounts are often available if you join the Allergan Alle program which gives credit for each treatment to be used for the next or other Allergan products (Botox, Juvederm) and skin care products (Skinmedica).

Not all providers who offer CoolSculpting® use the most advanced CoolSculpting® Elite system. This new technology has several advantages over legacy systems, including:

Is There Any Downtime With CoolSculpting® Elite?
Since CoolSculpting® Elite affects fat cells without harming your skin or other tissues, it requires no downtime or recovery. You can resume your usual activities after your treatment. Some people may notice redness and sensitivity that fades within a few days.
CoolSculpting® Elite carries a small risk of side effects such as areas of enlarged or hardened fat (Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia or PAH). There will be numbness in the area for at least a few weeks post treatment. Your dermatologist can discuss these risks with you, and CoolSculpting® Elite may have a decreased risk compared to previous CoolSculpting® systems. Other fat removal methods also have risks and typically require more recovery time. You should not be treated with Coolsculpting if you have Raynauds Disease (unusual sensitivity to the cold), other cold sensitive disorders, or are pregnant.
