Are you concerned by wrinkles that appear when you laugh, smile, and make other facial expressions? If so, Botox may be the ultimate solution. It’s an FDA-approved treatment that can take years off your face and help you feel more confident in your own skin. If you’re interested in Botox and are wondering how long the treatment results last. Keep reading to find out.

What to Expect From Botox

Botox is formulated with a neuromodulator known as botulinum toxin, which reduces the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. Unlike creams, serums, and other anti-aging treatments, Botox blocks muscular signals and stops muscles from contracting and causing wrinkles.

While Botox is typically a painless procedure, we can apply an ice-pack after treatment to relieve any discomfort. Since Botox is completely non-invasive, you are free to resume work and your daily activities immediately after. Since 2002, millions of patients across the country have used Botox to temporarily minimize fine line and wrinkles.

Botox is Long Lasting But Not Permanent

In a perfect world, Botox would resolve dynamic wrinkles forever. The reality, however, is that Botox results are not permanent. The good news is they’re long lasting. While results can last anywhere between three to six months, most patients enjoy stunning results for three to four months.

There are a number of factors that will determine how long your results will last. The length of time you have been using Botox, the strength of your facial muscles, the intensity of your regular exercise and severity of your wrinkles are some of the most important ones. Once you notice your results start to fade, you are welcome to return to our office for additional treatments (at additional cost).

Good Candidates for Botox

If you have dynamic wrinkles that pop up any time you make a facial expression, Botox may be a great option. If you’re a younger man or woman just starting to see lines, you can also use Botox as a preventative treatment as it can slow down the natural process of aging. If you have static deeper wrinkles that remain on your face when you’re not making an expression, we can also recommend alternative or additional treatments. During a consultation, our dermatologists can inform you if you’re a good candidate for Botox.
