At its core, laser skin resurfacing treatment that uses pulse of light to target a variety of skin conditions. Here at Krauss Dermatology, we perform superficial non-ablative laser skin resurfacing with the Clear + Brilliant laser and more aggressive/deeper non-ablative resurfacing with the Fraxel laser. These procedures can help you achieve and maintain glowing, youthful skin without surgery or an extensive recovery period. While Fraxel has a few days of downtime after each procedure, Clear and Brilliant has zero downtime which makes it the perfect “lunchtime procedure.”  Let’s dive deeper into how the Clear + Brilliant works and who may benefit from it.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Boston

How the Clear + Brilliant Laser Works

The Clear + Brilliant laser sends thousands of tiny energy columns to the skin. When it does this, it creates controlled injury zones and reveals renewed skin. During this treatment, our dermatologists may use one of two laser wavelengths: the 1440-nanometer wavelength “original”  or the 1927-nanometer thulium beam. While the 1440-nanometer laser reduces pore size as well as fine lines, the 1927-nanometer treats sun damage, sun spots, and pigmentation concerns.

In most cases, laser skin resurfacing with the Clear + Brilliant laser takes about 30 minutes to complete. Keep in mind, however, you may require a number of treatments every month or so to attain your desired results.

After a Clear + Brilliant treatment, you won’t have to worry about downtime. While you may experience mild redness and subtle swelling, these side effects will subside quickly on their own. Immediately after the treatment, you’ll be fine to return to work and your daily responsibilities as long as you protect from the sun.

Good Candidates for Clear + Brilliant Laser

Since the Clear + Brilliant laser for skin resurfacing is so versatile, our dermatologists recommend it to treat a variety of skin concerns. It may be a great option if you’re bothered by sun spots or other types of hyperpigmentation

If your primary concern is fine lines, wrinkles or mild acne scars, Clear + Brilliant may help as well. Even if you’re happy with your skin, skin resurfacing can help you maintain it or take it to the next level by stimulating collagen. It’s ideal if you lead a busy lifestyle and don’t want to commit to a longer, more invasive treatment with downtime.

Most patients report a smoother, brighter complexion as well as youthful looking skin.
