The combination of gravity, time, and collagen loss affects skin all over your body, but their effects on the neck, chin, and jawline can be among the most bothersome. Skin laxity in this area can make your features look looser and less defined. Ultherapy® is a non-invasive way to tighten your skin for a slimmer, more sculpted appearance.

What is Ultherapy® Skin Tightening?

If skin laxity around your neck and jaw has affected your appearance, you may have looked into surgical solutions. However, these procedures have considerable recovery time and involve a level of risk and high price tag you may not feel comfortable with. Ultherapy® is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment that uses ultrasound energy to trigger collagen production in the deep layers of the skin. It offers powerful anti-aging results that keep your neck and lower face looking youthful and defined.

What to Expect After Ultherapy® Skin Tightening

Your Ultherapy® treatment session usually takes about an hour. You may receive medication to keep you relaxed. At Krauss Dermatology, we also offer Pronox or laughing gas, that you can inhale as needed for your comfort. With these measures and the skill of our expert Ultherapy® providers, most people experience acceptable discomfort and can drive themselves home after the procedure.

Recovery

Some people notice minor redness or bruising after Ultherapy®.  Less commonly linear welts may occur  You can apply makeup immediately after treatment to cover these effects if they occur. You can return to your daily activities with no downtime, making treatments convenient for even the busiest schedules.

Results

Ultherapy® works by triggering new collagen formation, a process that can take several weeks to start showing results. Most people only need one treatment, but results will take three months or more to develop.

Once you see your full skin tightening results, you can expect them to last up to five years. Many people schedule annual maintenance sessions of Ultherapy to keep their results looking lifted and firm. While this treatment does “turn back the clock” on signs of aging around the neck and jawline, it cannot stop gravity and collagen loss from having their progressive effects.

Am I a Good Candidate for Ultherapy®?

If you are a healthy adult bothered by mild to moderate skin laxity around the neck, jaw, and chin, you might be a good candidate for Ultherapy®.  Because it relies on the skin’s ability to make new collagen, Ultherapy tends to work best on candidates 65 years old or younger.  This non-invasive treatment is safe for all skin types and tones.  Candidates should have reasonable expectations and understand that the results of Ultherapy® are not the same as a surgical procedure.

You may not be a good candidate for skin tightening with Ultherapy® if you have certain medical conditions, infection, tendency to scar abnormally (keloid formation), active skin conditions in the treatment area or have an electrical implant such as a pacemaker. Your expert provider will discuss your medical history before treatment.

The staff is very nice, doctor Nordon is simply amazing – very knowledgeable and informative, extremely helpful and understanding.
