How Does EMSCULPT Work?

EMSCULPT uses patented, HIFEMⓇ (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology, similar to an MRI device. The powerful energy waves induce rapid muscle contraction that can’t be achieved with voluntary contractions during exercise. EMSCULPT can cause your muscles to fire up to 20,000 times per 30-minute session for simultaneous deep tissue muscle building, remodeling and fat burn.

Am I a Good Candidate for EMSCULPT?

The ideal candidate is an adult of normal weight, who exercises regularly and desires a more defined, stronger core or buttock area.  Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have had hernia mesh repair, have metal hardware in or near the treatment area, metal IUDs or pacemakers should not be treated.

How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?

EMSCULPT treatments are done in-office in a painless 30-minute session, so it can even be performed on your lunch break. Patients have 4 treatment sessions, spaced 2-3 days or more apart.  Continuing to exercise and work out regularly will help maintain your muscle gain, and additional EMSCULPT treatments can be performed if desired every 6 months for maximal long-term tone improvement, or sooner for additional improvement or to other areas like the thighs.  The fat cell destruction achieved in your first 4 treatments is long-lasting.

What Results Will I See?*

The treatment area will feel noticeably tighter after just one session with EMSCULPT. In 7 clinical trials performed, average muscle gain was 16% after 4 sessions in a 2-week period.  Fat reduction takes place over a longer period with an average fat thickness reduction of 19% measured by CT and MRI scans by 3 months after the 4 treatments.

Is There Any Downtime?

EMSCULPT is completely non-invasive and involves no downtime. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately after treatment. You may experience some mild soreness similar to that of a hard workout for several days post-treatment.
