Do you have stubborn fat bulges, despite eating healthy and exercising regularly? If so, CoolSculpting may be right for you. It’s a non-invasive treatment that can freeze away unwanted fat and lead to a slimmer, more attractive silhouette. Keep reading to learn how CoolSculpting works and how many sessions you may need to achieve your desired results.
How CoolSculpting Works
CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling to damage fat cells without injuring the overlying skin. The fat cells are then safely broken down and absorbed naturally by the body. We have been performing this non-invasive fat removal procedure at Krauss Dermatology since 2009 and have performed thousands of procedures.
You can use CoolSculpting to get rid of unwanted fat on virtually every area of your body. This treatment is effective on the abdomen, in and outer thighs, love handles, upper back bra fat, arms and double chin. It’s completely safe, approved by the FDA, and does not require any needles, pain, or downtime. More than 7 million Coolsculpting procedures have been performed worldwide. Patients with extreme sensitivity to the cold, like Raynaud’s disease, should not have coolsculpting.
At Krauss Dermatology, CoolSculpting is administered by board-certified dermatologists. We are one of the only practices in the country that ensure our highly trained and experienced doctors perform this treatment, using their expertise to deliver optimal, precise results.

How Many CoolSculpting Sessions
After one CoolSculpting session, you can expect to see a 25 to 30% reduction in fatty tissue. Each visit may involve application of a variety of different applicators that fit the specific areas you would like to improve. Patients may begin to see an improvement in the treated area a few weeks after their treatment, but it may take up to four months before they enjoy their full and final results.
While every patient is different, most patients benefit from one to three sessions for each area of concern. We recommend that patients wait at least 60 days before retreating any area. Our dermatologists can work with you to design a customized treatment plan that will help you reach or even exceed your goals.
It’s important to understand that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment. You can’t count on sessions to help you shed unwanted pounds. CoolSculpting is designed to help get rid of stubborn bulges of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise. You should be at or near your goal weight before undergoing CoolSculpting, or if not, have a reasonable goal for improving a specific area.
