Creases between the brows, sometimes called frown lines or the 11s, form when facial muscles pull the skin into creases. These creases can become deeper and more noticeable over time, even when your face is resting. Dysport® is a wrinkle-smoothing injectable treatment for frown lines, crow’s feet, and more. It has several advantages over Botox® you can discuss with your board-certified dermatologist.

What is Dysport®?

Dysport® is a muscle-relaxing treatment delivered by injections into the targeted area. It causes the facial muscles to relax, stopping them from pulling on and creasing the skin. This effective line and wrinkle treatment rejuvenate your appearance by helping you look younger, more relaxed, and less stressed.

How Does Dysport® Work?

Like Dysport® and its other relatives, Dysport® uses a form of botulinum toxin. While the formulas differ, botulinum toxin always works the same way. It reaches the facial nerves that cause muscle contractions and tells them to stop sending signals. Without these signals, the muscles stop contracting. The effect is temporary and causes no harm to the nerves or muscles.

How Much is Dysport®?

The price of products like Dysport® varies according to many factors. These include:

  • Your provider’s location
  • Your provider’s skill and experience (all Krauss Dermatology injectors are board-certified dermatologists)
  • The amount of Dysport® needed to treat your target areas
  • Your body’s unique response to Dysport®

Dysport® can be priced by the syringe, area, or unit. At Krauss Dermatology, Dysport® costs $475 for a single area, such as between the eyebrows.  Most patients’ treatment ranges between $475 and $875. This pricing allows consistency and means you will always know what to expect when you come for your appointment.

Providers that offer “discounted” Dysport® or similar products usually have products administered by poorly trained, inexperienced injectors that lack an understanding of detailed facial anatomy. See your board-certified dermatologist for your best results.

Is There Any Downtime With Dysport®?

Dysport® injections take fifteen to twenty minutes, and we use ice packs to prevent discomfort. You will not need downtime and can return to your usual activities immediately. Avoid rubbing your face and limit strenuous activity for 24 hours. Some people notice small red spots or minor swelling in the treated area that fade within a day or two.

Dysport Consultations Available

How Long Does Dysport® Last?

Dysport® results last similarly to Botox® for most people. However, Dysport® can last longer for some people. We recommend a consultation with your dermatologist, who will consider each formula’s benefits to choose the best one. Each person will see different results from these treatments, so you may need a few sessions to find your ideal treatment schedule. We generally recommend four to six months between treatments depending on your budget and goals.

Am I a Good Candidate for Dysport®?

Almost anyone makes a good candidate for Dysport®. Botulinum toxin products have been safely used for decades. Good candidates for Dysport® want to address lines and wrinkles and have reasonable expectations. You might not be a good candidate if you are pregnant, affected by certain medical conditions (such as myasthenia gravis or eye muscle weakness), or have a skin infection in the treatment area.
